Living Kindness
CASA volunteers see everyday how even the smallest act of kindness can create a spark of positivity in a young person. This month we are highlighting Random Acts of Kindness Week (February 11-17, 2024), a time dedicated to uplifting others and helping make the world a more compassionate place.
Why does kindness matter? A simple smile, a thoughtful note, or an unexpected act of generosity can lighten someone’s day at a time when they may feel burdened by life’s circumstances. Communities who care and look out for each other are stronger.
Kindness does not have to be elaborate and dressed up. It can be simple and authentic.
- Send a Thoughtful Message – A call or text message can lift a friend’s, coworker’s, or volunteer’s spirits.
- Show Gratitude – Thank a teacher, healthcare professional, or a community volunteer, like a CASA.
- Be a Connector – Introduce someone to a resource or opportunity that could change their life.
- Be a Listener – Sometimes giving is more about time and attention.
- Pay It Forward – Cover the cost of someone’s coffee or meal.
Each gesture makes a difference, probably more than you will truly know.. VOICES is committed to promoting positive outcomes and the spirit of understanding and kindness year-round. Thank you CASA volunteers who live this every day.
