Director Ptak assumed her role in January, 2025, and is the first woman to lead the Arizona Department of Child Safety. She previously held the role of DCS General Counsel. Director Ptak has a vast background in child welfare and public policy including time at Casey Family Programs and the Arizona Board of Executive Clemency. She is also an adoptive parent, birth parent and former foster parent. We look forward to working with her and the DCS leadership team.
