When children enter the foster care system due to abuse or neglect, they need an adult who knows them on a personal level and can advocate for their best interests. This is a volunteer called a Court Appointed Special Advocate, or a CASA.
A CASA volunteer is commonly the only consistent person in the life of a child or teen living in foster care. National studies show that youth in foster care who have a CASA are more likely to receive needed services in a timely manner, perform better in school, and have a better chance of living in a safe and permanent home.
Your financial support helps Voices for CASA Children recruit, train and support more CASA volunteers each year, ensuring more youth have the benefit of a committed adult by their side.
Today, there are currently about 8,000 youth living in Maricopa County’s foster care system. The need for CASA volunteers has never been greater.
